Vi mottok i dag denne meget hyggelige takkehilsenen fra Sons of Norway i Montgomery/Aurora der vi hadde konsert sist søndag:

Kjempefint
konsert! What a wonderful concert you gave us on June 29! What a
range of Norwegian music, from sacred, to folk, to children’s songs, to a
rollicking seamen’s song! Several traditional songs of the “old country”,
like “Norge, mitt Norge” and “Jeg minnes...”, tugged at our heartstrings.
We were all very touched that you had learned our national anthem, even though
it is very difficult to sing. The arrangements were beyond imaginative,
and the a cappella, surround-sound voice quality was superb. We think
none of us realized before what great acoustical sound the nave of St. Olaf
Church was capable of giving. Your diction was very clear also:
many of us were trying to follow your words in Norwegian. We were all in
awe of your director, Øystein Jæger, as he started off each piece with
his perfect pitch, and directed so energetically and evocatively. And
then there were the beautiful bunader you wore. Besides all of that, you
are such friendly people! We were highly honored that you chose to come
to Sons of Norway-Polar Star Lodge 5-472, and St. Olaf Lutheran Church in
Montgomery, Illinois, on your 60th anniversary tour.
With
warm appreciation,
